(again, no) Anyway, I forgot what I wanted to say next so here is a list of things that were supposed to have happened by now and haven’t. Thanks for making the future suck Hollywood…

Robots for personal use

Domesticated robots are kind of a staple of old school future stuffs. There’s Robbie and Rosie and R2-D2 and Robocop. The list goes on and on. Instead of Rosie, we have a Roomba which is only good for driving your cat nuts as far as I can tell. Also, how cool is this robot picture? Robot-Godzilla makes me happy.

Anything from the Jetsons

Yeah, I know I already said the Rosie the Robot thing, but I always thought it was funny that there was a company that just made Sprockets. That is all I have got on that one.

The Kitchen of Tomorrow

The art of cooking really has not advanced in any way shape or form for ages. Sure, now we have the microwave and the Ron Popeil Molecular Food Dehydrator, but we are still just adding heat to stuff until it is less chewy and that is pretty much it. What happened to the kitchen where you insert the punch card into your computer and a cake or a turkey or something pops out? Or what about the little capsule thing that you put in the microwave and it turns into a pizza from Back to the Future? I mean, look at this…

I don’t blame you if you can’t make it all the way through, neither could I. But we really have crappy kitchens compared to this…

Clothing made of Reynolds Wrap

For some reason, silver clothing is the future. Any old school SciFi flick from the 40′s and 50′s had a dude in a costume that looked like it was made from the same material as the duct work from your air conditioner. My question is, how can that be comfortable? You are basically wearing what a baked potato wears to go into an oven, wouldn’t you get hot? Honestly, this was funnier in my head but I need something to pad this out so I am passing my mediocrity on to you. You are welcome.

So yeah, the future has kind of disappointed me as far as this stuff goes. What do you think?
